How to take this medication
This medication should be taken at the earliest signs or symptoms of an episode.
Side effects
Side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, and diarrhea.
Precautions
It is important that the doctor has your complete medical history. Consult with your doctor if you have kidney impairment, liver impairment, or advanced stages of HIV. Safety has not been established for pregnant women, nursing mothers, or children.
Drug interactions
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially when using probenecid, cimetidine, or phenytoin.
